This side event, part of the UN ESCAP High-Level Intergovernmental Meeting, addressed the urgent need for disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR). With a special focus on Pakistan’s climate-driven emergencies, speakers highlighted the experiences of women with disabilities during disasters and recovery processes. The session explored inclusive policy models, community resilience strategies, and cross-sector partnerships to ensure that DRR frameworks protect and empower persons with disabilities in humanitarian and development contexts.
