The Global Forum on the Leadership of Women with Disabilities works to advance the rights, leadership, and meaningful participation of women and girls with disabilities worldwide. Through global collaboration, advocacy, and knowledge sharing, we promote inclusive policies and strengthen the leadership of women with disabilities as agents of change.

Policy Advocacy & Global Engagement

We advocate for stronger, more inclusive global policies that reflect the lived experiences of women and girls with disabilities.

Our work includes:

Strengthening leadership and representation of women with disabilities at local, national, regional, and global levels.
Prioritising women with disabilities across global agendas, policies, and decision-making processes.
Advancing efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence against women and girls with disabilities.
Promoting inclusive economic opportunities and empowerment.
Supporting disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction, humanitarian action, and climate action.
Providing direct support to grassroots organizations and constituencies of women with disabilities.
Promoting care and support systems that enable the meaningful participation, leadership, and inclusion of women with disabilities.
Influencing policy through evidence-based advocacy and policy dialogue.
Developing leadership through capacity-building, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
Generating and sharing research, knowledge, and good practices.
Building strategic partnerships with governments, UN agencies, organizations of persons with disabilities, academia, civil society, and the private sector.
Leading global campaigns to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and promote the rights and visibility of women and girls with disabilities.

By generating credible evidence, we help shape policies that respond to real-world challenges.
